A LITTLE HELP FOR YOUR NEXT BINDER PROJECT
Build a single-Pokémon binder across sets
Choose By Pokémon in BinderPress, search for your favorite species, and build its catalogued English card checklist across sets. Decide whether you want optional finishes and artwork cameos, mark owned slots, then print placeholders for the missing cards. You can use the free beta and export PDFs without an account.
Choose the kind of Pokémon collection you want
A single-Pokémon binder follows one species across expansions and promo groups. A Pokédex binder follows a different plan: usually one chosen card for each species. An expansion binder follows the cards in one set. Choosing the plan first makes the empty pockets easier to count.
For a species collection, decide whether you want one copy of each artwork, separate finishes, recorded regional forms, owner cards, team-ups or appearances in another card’s art. There is no universal slot total for every Pikachu or Charizard binder. Language, printings and your own collecting scope change the answer.
| What you want to collect | How to handle it |
|---|---|
| Cards recorded for one Pokémon | Start with By Pokémon and review the English checklist and its source sets. |
| Different documented finishes | Review the available optional groups; each finish needs its own ownership slot. |
| The Pokémon in another card’s artwork | Review the optional Artwork cameos group separately. |
| Japanese or other-language cards | The current By Pokémon checklist is English. Use the corresponding language set checklists for other collections. |
Build your first character checklist
Open the studio and choose By Pokémon. Search by name or national Pokédex number: Pikachu is 25, Charizard is 6, Eevee is 133 and Gengar is 94. Choose the species and let the studio check the card records.
The result keeps each card’s source set and collector identity. Review the checklist and coverage notice, then choose Create my binder. Recorded regional forms are grouped with their national Pokédex species; they are not a separate promise that every historical printing is present.
Add artwork cameos if they belong in your collection
An artwork cameo means your Pokémon appears in another card’s illustration, rather than being the named Pokémon on that card. BinderPress offers an optional cameo group for species covered by its supplied English appearance list. The list is community-reported and is not exhaustive.
When a cameo group is available, review the cards and turn on Add them to my binder before creating the collection. They keep their original names, numbers and source sets and appear in their own section. A cameo should not be counted as a duplicate named card simply because the same Pokémon is visible in its artwork.
If a species has no recorded cameos in the supplied list, the studio says so. That is a limitation of this list, not proof that no cameo cards exist.
Mark owned cards and leave the rest as placeholders
Open My binder and tap + on a card you own. A checkmark marks the slot owned; tapping it again marks it missing. Keep separate slots for documented finishes that you actually want to collect.
Choose Print missing for your collection scope and review the selected count before exporting. Ownership and the cards selected for printing are separate, so you can change a print batch without rewriting your collection plan. When a new card arrives, replace its placeholder and mark that slot owned.
Count binder pockets separately from printer sheets
Use the number of slots in your chosen scope, including any optional groups. Divide it by the pockets on one page side and round up. If a physical binder sheet has usable pockets on both sides, divide those page sides by two and round up again.
For example, 100 chosen slots need 12 nine-pocket page sides or 9 twelve-pocket page sides. With usable pockets on both sides, those are 6 or 5 physical sheets. These are planning examples, not claimed card totals for any Pokémon.
Binder pocket choice does not change the 63 × 88 mm placeholder dimensions. A4 exports currently fit up to nine inserts per printer sheet and US Letter up to six.
Print one page and keep a portable backup
Choose your frame or an ink-saving effect, export the paper format you loaded, and print at Actual size / 100%. Measure the 50 mm reference line before printing a full batch. The free print size test lets you check the printer before choosing artwork.
Your progress saves in this browser on this device when storage is available. Save project gives you a portable project backup. Optional account-library saves are snapshots that you explicitly save or update; signing in alone does not back up local changes.
Catalog and community coverage are not exhaustive, particularly for older promos and historical printings. Review the source set, card identity and collecting scope before describing your binder as complete. These inserts mark personal collection spaces; they are not authentic trading cards.
Questions before you choose
Can I make a binder for only Pikachu, Charizard or another Pokémon?
Yes. Choose By Pokémon in BinderPress and search by name or national Pokédex number. The current mode builds a catalog-based English species collection across sets and recorded promo groups. Coverage is not an exhaustive inventory of every historical printing.
Do artwork cameos count as the Pokémon’s own cards?
They are a separate collecting choice. BinderPress can add supplied English artwork appearances as an optional Artwork cameos section, preserving the original card identity. The community-reported appearance list is not exhaustive.
Can I print only the character cards I am missing?
Yes. Mark your owned slots, choose Print missing for your collecting scope and review the count before exporting. Documented finishes have separate ownership slots.
Do I need an account to make character binder placeholders?
No account is required for the current free beta’s local studio and PDF downloads. Local progress stays in the current browser; portable project backups and optional account-library saves are separate choices.
