A LITTLE HELP FOR YOUR NEXT BINDER PROJECT

How to make Pokémon placeholder cards

Choose a set, mark the cards you own, and print placeholders for the gaps. BinderPress makes 63 × 88 mm inserts; print at 100% / Actual size, trim them, and keep a place for your next find.

1. Start with your collecting plan

Open the studio and choose an expansion, or build a collection around a Pokémon. Check the language and the groups in the checklist before selecting cards. A numbered set and a master set with separate finishes can need very different amounts of space.

Decide whether your binder includes reverse holos, ball patterns, galleries, stamped cards or related promos. Include a printing only when it exists for that set and language. BinderPress presents documented groups and coverage notices; a catalog is a starting point, not proof that every historical printing is included.

2. Mark the cards already in your binder

In My binder, tap + on a card you own; it changes to a checkmark. Tap the checkmark to mark it missing again. You can also manage ownership under Your collection in the Cards step. Each finish has its own ownership slot.

Use Print missing to select the unowned cards in your collection scope. Check the selected count before exporting, especially after adding optional groups. Ownership and the selection to print are separate, so you can keep your whole collection visible without printing every card.

3. Give the gaps a look of their own

Choose a frame and a card effect in Design. Faded color keeps the artwork recognizable while making a missing-card insert easier to distinguish from an owned card. Adjust its color fade until it suits your binder; text-only and ink-saving modes are available too.

The selected card effect is shared by My binder and the PDF. The 4-, 9-, 12- and 16-pocket choices change the binder preview. They do not change the physical size of an insert or the number of cards on a printed sheet.

4. Review your printable sheets

Choose A4 or US Letter in Print. The current layout holds up to nine cards on A4 and up to six on Letter. Select the spacing and cutting-guide style, then review the actual pages before downloading.

The beta lets you create and download these PDFs without an account. A missing scan gets a readable placeholder rather than a different card’s artwork. Check the card name, collector number, source set and finish before printing.

5. Print one page, measure, then cut

Match the printer paper size to your exported PDF and choose 100% / Actual size. Measure the 50 mm reference line and one 63 × 88 mm insert. If the measurements are wrong, fix the print settings before running the full batch.

Trim at the cutting guides and place the insert in the intended pocket. When you find the real card, replace the placeholder and mark that slot owned. A change in ownership does not mean you need to reprint the entire binder.

Keep your progress

Changes save in this browser on this device when storage is available. Clearing site data or moving to a different browser can remove that local progress. Optional account-library saves are explicit snapshots; update a saved collection after changing it.

These inserts are personal collection markers, not authentic trading cards. Keep their purpose clear when showing or sharing your binder.
