A LITTLE HELP FOR YOUR NEXT BINDER PROJECT
How many binder pages does a master set need?
Divide your collection’s slot count by the pockets on one page side, then round up. If each physical binder sheet has usable pockets on both sides, divide that result by two and round up again.
Calculate your binder space
Enter the total number of slots in your collecting plan, including any separate finishes you want. This estimates binder space; it does not estimate sheets of printer paper.
Count each finish you want as a separate slot.
Assumes usable pockets on both sides of each binder sheet. Printer paper is counted separately.
Example: a collection of 250 slots
| Pockets per side | Page sides needed | Two-sided binder sheets |
|---|---|---|
| 4 | 63 | 32 |
| 9 | 28 | 14 |
| 12 | 21 | 11 |
| 16 | 16 | 8 |
Count slots, and check how the binder lists capacity
A 12-pocket layout describes one side of a page. For a binder with 20 two-sided sheets, 12 × 20 × 2 gives 480 pockets. A seller may describe that as 20 sheets, 40 page sides, or a 480-card capacity; check the product’s actual specification.
An odd number of required sides leaves the back of the last sheet unused. The estimate also assumes every listed pocket is usable for your chosen cards and sleeves. Add room for the groups or promos you know you want to collect later.
A master-set count is not always twice the main set
Some cards have additional finishes, while others do not. Galleries, special printings and related promos can add more entries. Count the slots in your chosen checklist instead of multiplying the main set total by two.
BinderPress set checklists include an estimator, and My binder previews 4-, 9-, 12- and 16-pocket layouts. Check the collection scope before treating any displayed count as your complete master set.
